11. While registering I came across a question that asked me whether I am a Manglik. What is the meaning of Manglik?

Manglik is a criteria determined by the position of the stars at the time of your birth. It is generally calculated using the date of birth, time of birth and the Janam Patri (Horoscope). Manglik generally implies that there are some negative forces of matrimony that influence your life. In the case of Hindu weddings, it is preferred if a Manglik boy enters into a matrimonial alliance with a Manglik girl and vice versa, the theory being that 2 negatives make a positive. The Manglik option is important to only those people who are particular about horoscopes.
If you’re not sure about whether youre a Manglik then you may select the Dont Know option as an answer.

12. What does the Special Cases option mean?

Special Cases is a category created to refer to members who are physically or mentally challenged by birth or due to accident, or have physical abnormalities affecting looks and bodily functions.
The Special Cases option also includes HIV positive members.

13. While registering I came across the Gotra / Gothram option. What is Gotra / Gothram?

A Gotra is a classification and identification of castes in India. It indicates lineage systems, either patrilineal or matrilineal, in the Hindu community. Gotra is used as surname in many castes. Each of the gotras is normally named after a great ancient Rishi, and belonging to a particular gotra generally implies patrilineal descension from the rishi, whom the gotra is named after. In South India, Tulu and Malayalee communities have their own lineage system that is matrilineal. The Tulu lineage system is called bari or bali and Malayalee lineage system is called illam.

14. What does the Vegan option under "Diet" mean?

Vegan is a diet that excludes all meat, fish and dairy products as well as any food derived from a living animal such as eggs.
A Vegan person is a strict vegetarian, who eats only foods of plant origin and does not eat animal or dairy products at all.

15. What is the advantage of verifying my contact number? How can I do it?

19. While registering I got an error message which asks me to choose another Profile ID. Why?

This is because the Profile ID you chose has already been registered by another member of Matrimonyforall.com. You must choose a Profile ID that has not yet been registered by any other member yet. 20. While registering, I got an error message that says that my email address is already registered with Matrimonyforall.com and that I must specify another email address. Why does this happen?

Every profile posted on Matrimonyforall.com is associated with only one unique email address. You may have received this error message because you or someone else has already posted a matrimonial profile using this email address. 21. What is partner profile?

The partner profile describes your preferences for a matrimony partner. You can edit you partner profile any time you want by following a similar procedure as above. You can also create/edit your Partner Profile using our Smart Search feature after logging in. At the end of the various criteria, tick on the checkbox for Save as Partner Profile. The criteria chosen by you will be automatically saved as your Partner Profile.
